On December 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Manu Buffara Institute will host the 5th edition of Alimenta Curitiba at the Urban Farm of Curitiba. More than an annual event, Alimenta Curitiba is an ongoing social impact initiative created to reconnect people with the land, with food education, and with a healthier relationship between food, community, and the city.

What is the Alimenta Curitiba Project?

Alimenta Curitiba was born from the desire to transform the way the community relates to food. Created by the Manu Buffara Institute, the project is built on three fundamental pillars: Education, Food, and Community.

In the area of Education, the project promotes knowledge about food, cultivation, sustainability, and conscious choices. Workshops, talks, hands-on activities, and guided visits make learning accessible to all ages.

In the Food pillar, the project encourages a more respectful and balanced relationship with food. The goal is to highlight the importance of origin, cultivation, and the impact of everyday choices, showing that food is culture, health, territory, and environment.

In the Community pillar, the project connects people, families, producers, public institutions, and local initiatives. Its purpose is to strengthen networks of care and promote inclusion, access, and collective well-being.

Over the years, Alimenta Curitiba has become a space for exchange and connection. It brings together participants who share the same vision: transforming the relationship between people, food, and the territory they inhabit.

The 5th Edition: Services, Experiences, and Collective Care

This year’s edition includes the participation of the City of Curitiba, which will offer essential services to the public. The Sine Mobile Unit will provide job opportunities and professional guidance. The Health Van will update vaccinations and carry out preventive health actions. The Entrepreneur Mobile Hub will offer lectures and support for those looking to formalize or expand their businesses.

The program also includes activities at the Urban Farm, where participants will have direct contact with cultivation practices, learn how the space operates, and strengthen their connection with nature. These experiences reinforce the project’s core idea: food begins in the soil, in environmental care, and in understanding natural cycles.

Five Years of Commitment to the City

As it reaches its fifth edition, Alimenta Curitiba reaffirms the mission of the Manu Buffara Institute. Each part of the event is built through the collaboration of volunteers, partners, public institutions, and the community itself.

Alimenta Curitiba is not just an event. It is an invitation to learn, share, collaborate, and strengthen the bonds that transform the relationship between the city, food, and people.
